Is orange low FODMAP?
Low FODMAP
Yes. A whole orange is low FODMAP in a typical portion, and so are mandarins. Orange juice is more concentrated, so keep it to a small glass.
Monash University lists oranges and mandarins as low FODMAP fruits. A whole orange is an easy snack during the elimination phase.
Juice is different
A glass of orange juice is made from several oranges, so it contains more fructose than eating one whole. Keep juice to a small glass, and check the Monash University FODMAP app for tested portions. Juice blends may also include apple or mango.
Spread fruit out
Even low FODMAP fruits add up when you eat several portions at once. Spread fruit across the day. Other easy choices are kiwi, pineapple and strawberries.
