Is cucumber low FODMAP?

Low FODMAP

Yes. Cucumber is low FODMAP in typical portions, raw in salads, as a snack or in sandwiches. Watch for garlic in pickles and tzatziki.

Monash University lists cucumber as a low FODMAP vegetable. It is one of the easiest things to add to a salad, a sandwich or a snack plate during the elimination phase.

Pickles and dips

Dill pickles are often made with garlic, and sweet pickles may contain onion. Tzatziki combines yogurt (lactose) with garlic, so make it with lactose-free yogurt and garlic-infused oil instead. See yogurt.

Easy pairings

Cucumber goes well with tomato, lettuce, feta cheese and quinoa. It is also a good swap for higher FODMAP vegetables such as red bell pepper.
